حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْنَبَ ابْنَةَ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أُمِّهَا أَنَّ امْرَأَةً تُوُفِّيَ زَوْجُهَا فَخَافُوا عَلَى عَيْنِهَا فَأَتَوْا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاسْتَأْذَنُوهُ فِي الْكُحْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ كَانَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ تَكُونُ فِي بَيْتِهَا فِي أَحْلَاسِهَا أَوْ فِي شَرِّ أَحْلَاسِهَا فِي بَيْتِهَا حَوْلًا فَإِذَا مَرَّ كَلْبٌ رَمَتْ بِبَعْرَةٍ فَخَرَجَتْ فَلَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Narrated to us by Muhammad ibn Ja'far, who said: Shu'bah and Hajjaj narrated to us - Hajjaj said: Shu'bah narrated to me - from Humayd ibn Nafi', who said: "I heard Zaynab bint Abi Salamah relate from her mother that a woman whose husband had died - and they feared for her eye - came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked his permission to use kohl. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'One of you used to stay in her house, in her worst clothes, for a year, and then if a dog passed by she would throw a piece of dung [to end the mourning period] - so instead, let it be no more than four months and ten days.'"
