حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ قَالَتْ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فِي سُبْحَتِهِ جَالِسًا قَطُّ حَتَّى كَانَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِعَامٍ فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي جَالِسًا فَيَقْرَأُ السُّورَةَ فَيُرَتِّلُهَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ أَطْوَلَ مِنْهَا.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi told us: Malik ibn Anas told us, from al-Zuhri - and Abd al-Razzaq: Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from al-Sa'ib ibn Yazid, from al-Muttalib ibn Abi Wada'ah, from Hafsah, who said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray his supererogatory prayers seated at all, until about a year before his death, when he would pray seated, reciting the surah slowly until it took longer than the longest surah would take.
