حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ يَقُولُ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شَكْوَاهُ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ رَجُلٌ رَقِيقٌ وَإِنَّهُ إِنْ قَامَ فِي مُصَلَّاكَ بَكَى فَمُرْ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِهِمْ قَالَتْ فَقَالَ مَهْلًا مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَتْ فَعُدْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَ مَهْلًا مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ قَالَتْ فَعُدْتُ لَهُ فَقَالَتْ مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ لِلنَّاسِ إِنَّكُنَّ صَوَاحِبُ يُوسُفَ.

Ya'qub narrated to us, he said: My father narrated to us, from his father, that he heard Urwa ibn al-Zubayr say: Aisha said: The Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him, said during his illness, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." She said: I said, "O Messenger of God, Abu Bakr is a tender-hearted man, and if he stands in your place of prayer he will weep, so order Umar ibn al-Khattab to lead them in prayer." She said: He said, "No matter, order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." She said: I repeated it to him, and he said, "No matter, order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." She said: I repeated it to him again, and he said, "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer, for you are like the women companions of Joseph."
