Yahya narrated from Shu'bah, he said: al-Hakam narrated to us from Ibrahim from al-Aswad from Aisha, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he was in a state of major ritual impurity and wished to sleep, would perform ablution. My father said, and Waki' and Muhammad ibn Ja'far said in this hadith: 'whenever he wished to sleep or eat, he would perform ablution.' Yahya said: Shu'bah left out al-Hakam's report about the one in major impurity performing ablution when wishing to eat.
