Qutaybah told us, saying Yahya bin Zakariyya told us, from his father, from Mus'ab bin Shaybah, from Musafi' bin Abdullah al-Hajabi, from Urwah bin al-Zubayr, from Aisha, that a woman said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: Should a woman perform a full ritual bath if she has a wet dream and sees the fluid? He said: Yes. Aisha said to her: May your hands be rubbed with dust! The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Leave her be. From where else would resemblance of a child to a parent come, except from that? When her fluid overcomes the man's fluid, the child resembles its maternal relatives, and when the man's fluid overcomes hers, the child resembles him.
