Sufyan narrated to us, from Ibrahim bin Maysarah, from Amr bin ash-Sharid, that Sa'd bargained with Abu Rafi — or Abu Rafi bargained with Sa'd — over a property, and Abu Rafi said: Were it not that I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, "The neighbor has the greater right because of his proximity (saqab)," I would not have given it to you. Abdur-Razzaq said in his narration: as-saqab means proximity.
