حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبُرْدَةٍ مَنْسُوجَةٍ فِيهَا حَاشِيَتَاهَا قَالَ سَهْلٌ وَهَلْ تَدْرُونَ مَا الْبُرْدَةُ قَالُوا نَعَمْ هِيَ الشَّمْلَةُ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَسَجْتُ هَذِهِ بِيَدِي فَجِئْتُ بِهَا لِأَكْسُوَكَهَا فَأَخَذَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْتَاجًا إِلَيْهَا فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا وَإِنَّهَا لَإِزَارُهُ فَجَسَّهَا فُلَانُ بْنُ فُلَانٍ رَجُلٌ سَمَّاهُ فَقَالَ مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذِهِ الْبُرْدَةَ اكْسُنِيهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ نَعَمْ فَلَمَّا دَخَلَ طَوَاهَا وَأَرْسَلَ بِهَا إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ الْقَوْمُ وَاللَّهِ مَا أَحْسَنْتَ كُسِيَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُحْتَاجًا إِلَيْهَا ثُمَّ سَأَلْتَهُ إِيَّاهَا وَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهُ لَا يَرُدُّ سَائِلًا فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي مَا سَأَلْتُهُ لِأَلْبَسَهَا وَلَكِنْ سَأَلْتُهُ إِيَّاهَا لِتَكُونَ كَفَنِي يَوْمَ أَمُوتُ قَالَ سَهْلٌ فَكَانَتْ كَفَنَهُ يَوْمَ مَاتَ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Surayj ibn al-Nu'man narrated to us: Ibn Abi Hazim narrated to us, he said: My father informed me, from Sahl ibn Sa'd al-Sa'idi, that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, with a woven cloak that had two borders. Sahl said: Do you know what the burdah is? They said: Yes, it is the woolen wrap. He said: Yes. She said: O Messenger of Allah, I wove this with my own hands and brought it to clothe you with it. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, took it, being in need of it, and came out to us wearing it as his lower garment. Then a certain man — he named him — felt it and said: How fine is this cloak; give it to me to wear, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Yes. When he went inside, he folded it and sent it to him. The people said to him: By Allah, you did not do well; the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, wore it while needing it, then you asked him for it, knowing that he never refuses a request. He said: By Allah, I did not ask him for it to wear it, but I asked him for it so that it would be my shroud on the day I die. Sahl said: And indeed it was his shroud on the day he died.
