Abd al-Samad ibn Abd al-Warith narrated to us: Rafi' ibn Salama al-Ashja'i narrated to us: Hashraj ibn Ziyad al-Ashja'i narrated to me, from his grandmother, the mother of his father, who said: I went out with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on the expedition to Khaybar, being the sixth of six women. It reached the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that women were with him, so he sent for us and said, "What made you come out, and by whose order did you come out?" We said, "We came out to hand the fighters arrows, to give the people barley drink, and we have with us what we use to treat the wounded, and we spin wool and help thereby in the way of Allah." He said, "Rise, then, and go back." When Allah granted him victory at Khaybar, he assigned us a share like the share of a man. I said, "O grandmother, what did he give you?" She said, "Dates."
