حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا ذَرٍّ الْغِفَارِيَّ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِالْفُسْطَاطِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا وَمَنْ تَقَرَّبَ إِلَى اللَّهِ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا وَمَنْ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَاشِيًا أَقْبَلَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ مُهَرْوِلًا وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَى وَأَجَلُّ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id told us: Ibn Lahi'ah told us, from Yazid ibn Amr, from Yazid ibn Nu'aym, who said: I heard Abu Dharr al-Ghifari, while he was on the pulpit at al-Fustat, saying: I heard the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever draws near to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, a hand-span, He draws near to him a forearm's length; and whoever draws near to Allah a forearm's length, He draws near to him a fathom's length; and whoever comes to Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, walking, Allah comes to him running. And Allah is Most High and Most Great, and Allah is Most High and Most Great."
