حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى أَبُو مُوسَى الْعَنَزِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا خَارِجَةُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ عُتَيٍّ عَنْ أُبَيٍّ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلْوُضُوءِ شَيْطَانٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْوَلَهَانُ فَاتَّقُوهُ أَوْ قَالَ فَاحْذَرُوهُ.

Abdullah told us, Muhammad ibn al-Muthanna Abu Musa al-Anazi told me, Abu Dawud told us, Kharijah ibn Mus'ab told us, from Yunus ibn Ubayd, from al-Hasan, from Utayy, from Ubayy, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said, "For ablution there is a devil called al-Walahan, so beware of him" — or he said, "so be cautious of him."
