حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا هَدِيَّةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ عَنْ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ { إِنْ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ إِلَّا إِنَاثًا } قَالَ مَعَ كُلِّ صَنَمٍ جِنِّيَّةٌ.

Abdullah told us, Hadiyyah ibn Abdul-Wahhab and Mahmud ibn Ghaylan told us, they said: al-Fadl ibn Musa told us, Husayn ibn Waqid informed us, from al-Rabi' ibn Anas, from Abu al-Aliyah, from Ubayy ibn Ka'b, regarding "They invoke none besides Him but female [deities]" — he said: With every idol there was a female jinn.
