Zayd ibn al-Hubab told us: Ibn Thawban told us, from his father, from Makhul, who said: Abu Aishah told me - and he was a companion of Abu Hurayrah - that Sa'id ibn al-As invited Abu Musa al-Ash'ari and Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman, may Allah be pleased with both of them, and said, "How did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say the takbir on the two Eids, Fitr and Adha?" Abu Musa said, "He would say the takbir four times, like his takbir over funerals," and Hudhayfah confirmed him. Abu Aishah said, "I have not forgotten since then his saying 'his takbir over funerals,'" and Abu Aishah was present with Sa'id ibn al-As.
