Affan told us: Hammad ibn Salamah told us: Ali ibn Zayd informed us, from Hittan ibn Abdullah al-Raqashi, from Abu Musa, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who said: "Before the Hour there will be al-harj." They said, "What is al-harj?" He said, "Killing." They said, "More than we already kill? We kill more than seventy thousand in a single year." He said, "It will not be your killing of the polytheists, but rather the killing of some of you by others." They said, "Will we have our reason on that day?" He said, "The reason of most of the people of that time will be taken away, and a worthless remnant of people will be left, most of whom think they are upon something, while they are upon nothing." Abu Musa said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, I find no way out for myself and for you from it, if it reaches me and you, except that we come out of it just as we entered it, having not incurred any bloodshed or wealth wrongfully in it."
