Abd al-Samad told us, my father told me, Husayn, meaning al-Mu'allim, told us, from Ibn Buraydah: Hanzalah ibn Ali told me that Mihjan ibn al-Adra' told him that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, entered the mosque and found a man who had finished his prayer and was reciting the tashahhud, saying, "O Allah, I ask You, by virtue of the fact that You are Allah, the One, the Unique, the Eternal Refuge, who neither begets nor is begotten, and to whom none is equal, to forgive me my sins; indeed You are the Forgiving, the Merciful."
