Affan told us, Shu'bah told us: Mansur informed me, saying: I heard Ibrahim narrate from Ubayd ibn Nudaylah, from al-Mughirah ibn Shu'bah, that two women were married to one man and became jealous of each other, so one struck the other with a tent pole and killed her. They brought their dispute to the Messenger of God, peace and blessings be upon him. One of them said, "O Messenger of God, how can we be made to pay blood-money for one who neither ate nor drank, nor cried out at birth?" The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Is this rhymed speech like the rhymed speech of the bedouin?" He said: So he ruled a ghurrah for it, and he placed it upon the woman's paternal kin.
