حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجُعْفِيُّ عَنْ زَائِدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ قَالَ اسْتَعْمَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ عَلَى الشَّامِ وَعَزَلَ خَالِدَ بْنَ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ فَقَالَ خَالِدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بُعِثَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ أَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ أَبُو عُبَيْدةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ قَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ خَالِدٌ سَيْفٌ مِنْ سُيُوفِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنِعْمَ فَتَى الْعَشِيرَةِ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Husayn ibn Ali al-Ju'fi told us, from Za'idah, from Abd al-Malik ibn Umayr, who said: Umar ibn al-Khattab appointed Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah over Syria and removed Khalid ibn al-Walid. He said: Khalid ibn al-Walid said: The trustee of this community has been sent over you. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The trustee of this community is Abu Ubaydah ibn al-Jarrah. Abu Ubaydah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: Khalid is a sword among the swords of Allah, Mighty and Sublime, and an excellent young man of the tribe.
