Mu'ammal and 'Affan told us, they said: Hammad ibn Salamah told us, from Thabit, from Anas, who said: The time for prayer came, and the neighbors of the mosque went to their homes to perform ablution, and there remained in the mosque people from the Muhajirun numbering between seventy and eighty. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, called for water, and a stone basin containing water was brought. He placed the fingers of his right hand in the basin, and he began pouring it over them while they performed ablution, saying, "Perform ablution, come to the ablution," until they had all performed ablution, and there remained in it about as much as had been in it before.
