Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by with a group of his companions, and there was a child in the road. When his mother saw the group, she feared for her child that he might be trodden upon, so she came running, saying, "My son, my son!" and hurried and took him. The people said, "O Messenger of Allah, this woman would never throw her son into the fire." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, made them lower their voices and said, "The devotion of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, would not throw His beloved into the fire."
