Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, from Anas, who said: We used to be delighted when a man from the desert people would come and ask the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a question. A bedouin came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" And the prayer was called, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed. When he finished his prayer he said, "Where is the one who asked about the Hour?" He said, "Here I am, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "What have you prepared for it?" He said, "I have not prepared much for it in the way of prayer or fasting, except that I love Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "A man is with whoever he loves." Anas said: I never saw the Muslims rejoice after embracing Islam over anything as they rejoiced over this.
