Ibn Abi Adiyy narrated to us from Humayd, who said: Anas was asked about the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and he said, "Whenever we wished to see him praying at night, we would see him, and whenever we wished to see him sleeping, we would see him. He used to fast during the month until we would say he would not break his fast at all during it, and he would break his fast until we would say he would not fast at all during it."
