حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَرَّحَتْنِي أُمِّي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَسْأَلُهُ فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَقَعَدْتُ قَالَ فَاسْتَقْبَلَنِي فَقَالَ مَنْ اسْتَغْنَى أَغْنَاهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ اسْتَعَفَّ أَعَفَّهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ اسْتَكْفَى كَفَاهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَهُ قِيمَةُ أُوقِيَّةٍ فَقَدْ أَلْحَفَ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ نَاقَتِي الْيَاقُوتَةُ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُوقِيَّةٍ فَرَجَعْتُ وَلَمْ أَسْأَلْهُ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ نَحْوَهُ.
انگریزی ترجمہ
Qutaybah ibn Sa'id told us, Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Rijal told us, from Umarah ibn Ghaziyyah, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Sa'id al-Khudri, from his father, who said: My mother sent me to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to ask him for something. I came to him and sat down. He said: He faced me and said: "Whoever seeks self-sufficiency, Allah will make him self-sufficient; whoever seeks chastity, Allah will make him chaste; whoever seeks sufficiency, Allah will grant him sufficiency; and whoever begs while possessing the value of an uqiyyah has asked improperly." He said: I said to myself: "My she-camel Ya'qutah is worth more than an uqiyyah," so I went back and did not ask him. Al-Hakam ibn Musa told us, Ibn Abi al-Rijal told us, similarly.
