Yazid told us: Muhammad b. Amr informed us, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, judged, regarding a miscarried fetus, that a slave - male or female - should be given. The one against whom the ruling was given said: "How can there be liability for one who neither drank nor ate, nor cried out at birth? Such a thing is to be disregarded." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "This man is speaking the words of a poet. Yes, in it is due a slave, male or female."
