Hadrat Amir ar-Ram (may Allah be well pleased with him), the brother of Khidr — Abu Dawud (upon him be mercy) said that Nufayli stated he is Khidr himself but said it thus — narrated: I was in our land when flags and banners were raised for us. I asked: What is this? They said: This is the banner of the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). So I came to him; he was seated beneath a tree upon a cloth spread for him, and his noble Companions were gathered around him. I sat among them. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then mentioned illnesses and stated: Indeed, when a believer is afflicted with illness and then Allah Most High grants him recovery from it, that illness becomes an atonement for his past sins and a warning for the future. And indeed, when a hypocrite falls ill and is then granted recovery, he is like a camel whose owners tethered it and then released it — it knows not why they tethered it nor why they released it. A man from those around him submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), what are illnesses? By Allah, I have never been ill. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Get up from us, for you are not of us. While we were sitting in his blessed presence, a man came wearing a cloak with something wrapped in his hand. He submitted: O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), when I saw you I came towards you and passed through a thicket of trees where I heard the sounds of bird chicks. I took them and placed them in my cloak. Their mother came and circled over my head. I uncovered them for her and she settled upon them, so I wrapped them all in my cloak, and here they are with me. He (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: Put them down. So I put them down, but their mother refused to leave them. The Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) then said to his Companions: Are you amazed at the love of the mother bird for her chicks? They submitted: Yes, O Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him). He stated: By Him Who sent me with the Truth, Allah is more merciful to His servants than this mother bird is to her chicks. Take them back and place them where you took them from, along with their mother. So the man took them back.
اردو ترجمہ
حضرت عامر الرام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ (جو خضر کے بھائی ہیں) فرماتے ہیں — حضرت ابوداؤد فرماتے ہیں کہ نفیلی نے کہا کہ وہ خود خضر ہیں لیکن انہوں نے ایسا کہا — کہ میں اپنے علاقے میں تھا کہ اچانک ہمارے سامنے جھنڈے اور پرچم بلند کیے گئے، میں نے پوچھا: یہ کیا ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: یہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کا پرچم ہے۔ تو میں آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں حاضر ہوا، آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ایک درخت کے نیچے تشریف فرما تھے، آپ کے لیے ایک چادر بچھائی گئی تھی جس پر آپ جلوہ افروز تھے اور آپ کے صحابہ کرام آپ کے گرد جمع تھے۔ میں بھی ان میں بیٹھ گیا۔ پھر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے بیماریوں کا ذکر فرمایا اور ارشاد فرمایا: بے شک جب مومن کو بیماری لاحق ہوتی ہے پھر اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اس سے شفا عطا فرماتا ہے تو وہ بیماری اس کے گزشتہ گناہوں کا کفارہ بن جاتی ہے اور آئندہ کے لیے نصیحت ہوتی ہے۔ اور بے شک منافق جب بیمار ہوتا ہے پھر اسے عافیت مل جاتی ہے تو وہ اس اونٹ کی مانند ہے جسے اس کے مالکوں نے باندھا پھر چھوڑ دیا، نہ اسے معلوم ہوا کہ انہوں نے اسے کیوں باندھا اور نہ یہ سمجھا کہ کیوں چھوڑ دیا۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے اردگرد بیٹھے لوگوں میں سے ایک شخص نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! بیماریاں کیا ہوتی ہیں؟ اللہ کی قسم! میں تو کبھی بیمار نہیں ہوا۔ تو محبوب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ہمارے پاس سے اٹھ جا، تو ہم میں سے نہیں ہے۔ ہم ابھی آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کی بارگاہ میں بیٹھے ہی تھے کہ ایک شخص آیا جس پر چادر تھی اور اس کے ہاتھ میں کوئی چیز لپٹی ہوئی تھی۔ اس نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! جب میں نے آپ کو دیکھا تو آپ کی طرف چلا، راستے میں درختوں کے ایک جھنڈ سے گزرا تو اس میں پرندے کے بچوں کی آوازیں سنیں، میں نے انہیں پکڑ کر اپنی چادر میں رکھ لیا۔ ان کی ماں آئی اور میرے سر پر چکر لگانے لگی، میں نے اس کے لیے بچوں سے چادر ہٹائی تو وہ ان پر آ بیٹھی، پھر میں نے سب کو اپنی چادر میں لپیٹ لیا اور وہ سب میرے ساتھ ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: انہیں رکھ دو۔ میں نے انہیں رکھ دیا لیکن ان کی ماں نے ان کا ساتھ نہ چھوڑا۔ تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے اپنے صحابہ سے ارشاد فرمایا: کیا تم اس پرندی کی اپنے بچوں سے محبت پر تعجب کرتے ہو؟ صحابہ نے عرض کیا: جی ہاں، یا رسول اللہ! آپ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس نے مجھے حق کے ساتھ مبعوث فرمایا ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے بندوں پر اس پرندی سے اپنے بچوں کی نسبت کہیں زیادہ مہربان ہے۔ ان بچوں کو واپس لے جاؤ اور جہاں سے اٹھائے تھے وہیں ان کی ماں سمیت رکھ دو۔ تو وہ شخص انہیں واپس لے گیا۔
