Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9982 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ أَبَانَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ «§مَنْ رَغِبَ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ فَقَدْ رَغِبَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ مَطَرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَنَهَضَ لِيَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ فَسَبَّحَ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ؟ قَالَ فَصَلَّى مَا بَقِيَ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ مَا أَمَاطَ
English Translation
Abdullah said: 'Whoever turns away from wiping over the leather socks has turned away from the Sunnah.' [Then another narration follows about Ibn al-Zubayr who gave the taslim after two rak'ahs of Maghrib and stood to touch the Black Stone, and the people reminded him, so he prayed what remained and prostrated two prostrations of forgetfulness. This was mentioned to Ibn Abbas who said it was not wrong.]
