Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:9372 حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَنَّ جُنْدُبًا وَمَسْرُوقًا أَدْرَكَا مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَةً فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ الْإِمَامُ قَامَا يَقْضِيَانِ فَقَامَ جُنْدُبٌ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ وَقَعَدَ مَسْرُوقٌ فِيهِمَا جَمِيعًا فَقَالَا لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَقَالَ «كِلَاكُمَا قَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَأَصْنَعُ كَمَا صَنَعَ مَسْرُوقٌ»
English Translation
Jundub and Masruq caught one rak'ah of Maghrib with the imam. When the imam said the salam, they stood to make up. Jundub stood in the first rak'ah of the makeup, while Masruq sat in the second (for tashahhud). They went to Ibn Mas'ud, and he said: 'Both of you have done well, and do as Masruq did.'
