Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:6577 حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بن عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ «قَدِمْنَا مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ فَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً وَنَحِلَّ وَكَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ فَلَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عُمْرَةً» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ أَبُو بِشْرٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ قِصَّةَ سُرَاقَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
English Translation
Jabir ibn 'Abdullah said: "We arrived having entered ihram for Hajj. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) ordered us to make it an 'umrah and exit ihram. He had the sacrificial animal with him and could not make it an 'umrah." Abu Bishr did not mention the story of Suraqah ibn Malik in his narration.
