Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:6355 حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ كُنْتُ غُلَامًا وَكُنْتُ أَتَلَقَّى الرُّكْبَانَ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَسْتَقْرِئُهُمْ فَأَخْبَرُونِي أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لِيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْثَرُكُمْ قُرْآنًا» فَكُنْتُ أَؤُمُّهُمْ
English Translation
'Amr ibn Salamah said: "I was a boy, and I used to receive the riders coming from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) and ask them to recite to me. They informed me that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Let the one who has the most Qur'an lead you in prayer.' So I used to lead them in prayer."
