Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:5022 حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيِّ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ قَالَ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ مَا أَحَادِيثُ تَبْلُغُنَا عَنْكَ تُحَدِّثُ بِهَا فَتَرْوِيها عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ لَهُ حَوْضًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ؟ قُلْتُ قَدْ حَدَّثَنَا ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَوَعَدَنَاهُ قَالَ كَذَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّكَ شَيْخٌ قَدْ خَرِفْتَ
English Translation
Zayd ibn Arqam said: 'Ubaydullah ibn Ziyad sent word to me: "What are these hadiths that have reached us from you which you narrate from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)? You claim that he has a Pool in Paradise?" I said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told us that and promised it to us." He said: "You have lied, but you are an old man who has become senile."
