Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:2004 حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا خَطَبَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يَقْرَأُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللهِ وَيُذَكِّرُ النَّاسَ»
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: "We used to say while behind the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in prayer: 'Peace be upon so-and-so, peace be upon so-and-so.' The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'How is it that I see you raising your hands as though they are the tails of unruly horses? When one of you sits in prayer, let him place his hand on his thigh and say the salutation to the one on his right and the one on his left.'"
