Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:1930 حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا زَائِدَةُ ثنا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ قَطُّ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ إِلَّا قَائِمًا فَمَنْ حَدَّثَكَ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ فَكَذِّبْهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ قَالَ جَابِرٌ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «يَخْطُبُ ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَخْطُبُ وَكَانَ يَخْطُبُ خُطْبَتَيْنِ يَقْعُدُ بَيْنَهُمَا»
English Translation
Jabir ibn Samurah said: "The companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to sit with him. None of them would raise his gaze to him, except Abu Bakr and 'Umar — they would look at him and he would look at them, and they would smile at him and he would smile at them."
