Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:11980 حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بَكْرِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُمْرَانَ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْمَكِّيُّ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا لَمْ يَلْقَ الْعَدُوَّ مِنْ أَوَّلِ النَّهَارِ أَخَّرَهُ حَتَّى يَهِبَّ الرِّيحُ وَيَكُونَ عِنْدَ مَوَاقِيتِ الصَّلَوَاتِ وَكَانَ يَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ بِكَ أُصُولُ وَبِكَ أَجُولُ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ»
English Translation
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not encounter the enemy at the beginning of the day, he would delay until the wind blew and the prayer times came. He would say: 'O Allah, by You I attack, by You I charge, and there is no power or strength except with Allah.'
