Ḥadīth | Ṭabarānī (الطبراني) tabarani:10565 حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَمَلَتْ أُمُّ الْفَضْلِ فِي الشِّعْبِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تُبَيِّضَ وُجُوهَنَا بِغُلَامٍ» فَوَلَدَتْ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ
English Translation
Ibn Abbas reported that Umm al-Fadl became pregnant while in the mountain pass (Shi'b of Abu Talib). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "I hope that she will brighten our faces with a boy." She gave birth to Abdullah ibn Abbas.
