Arabic (Original)
نا هُشَيْمٌ , قَالَ: نا الْمُغِيرَةُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ , فِي أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ إِذَا اسْتُحْلِفُوا:" يُغَلِّظُ عَلَيْهِمْ بِدِينِهِمْ، فَإِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْيَمِينَ اسْتُحْلِفُوا بِاللَّهِ".
English Translation
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: 'When people of the covenant are made to swear, the oath should be made strict according to their religion, but when the actual oath is taken, they should swear by Allah.'
Urdu Translation
ابراہیم رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا: اہلِ ذمہ کو جب قسم دی جائے تو ان پر ان کے دین کے مطابق سختی کی جائے، اور جب قسم کا موقع آ جائے تو انہیں اللہ کی قسم دی جائے۔[سنن سعید بن منصور/كتاب التفسير/حدیث: 753]
