عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ جُرْثُومِ بن نَاشِر رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه و سلم قَال: "إنَّ اللَّهَ تَعَالَى فَرَضَ فَرَائِضَ فَلَا تُضَيِّعُوهَا، وَحَدَّ حُدُودًا فَلَا تَعْتَدُوهَا، وَحَرَّمَ أَشْيَاءَ فَلَا تَنْتَهِكُوهَا، وَسَكَتَ عَنْ أَشْيَاءَ رَحْمَةً لَكُمْ غَيْرَ نِسْيَانٍ فَلَا تَبْحَثُوا عَنْهَا". حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ، رَوَاهُ الدَّارَقُطْنِيّ ْ"في سننه" ، وَغَيْرُهُ.
English Translation
On the authority of Abu Tha'labah al-Khushani Jurthum ibn Nashir (may Allah be well pleased with him), that the Beloved Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Verily, Allah the Most High has ordained religious obligations, so do not neglect them; He has set limits, so do not transgress them; He has forbidden certain things, so do not violate them; and He has remained silent about certain things — as a mercy to you, not out of forgetfulness — so do not inquire about them." A good (hasan) hadith, narrated by ad-Daraqutni and others in his Sunan.
Urdu Translation
حضرت ابو ثعلبہ خشنی جرثوم بن ناشر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ حضور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرائض مقرر فرمائے ہیں، انہیں ضائع نہ کرو؛ حدود مقرر فرمائی ہیں، ان سے تجاوز نہ کرو؛ کچھ چیزیں حرام فرمائی ہیں، ان کی خلاف ورزی نہ کرو؛ اور کچھ چیزوں کے بارے میں خاموشی اختیار فرمائی ہے — تمہارے لیے رحمت کے طور پر، بھول کر نہیں — پس ان کی تحقیق و تفتیش نہ کرو۔ یہ حدیثِ حسن ہے، اسے دارقطنی وغیرہ نے اپنی سنن میں روایت کیا ہے۔
