English Translation
Narrated Umm al-Mu'minin A'ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to stay with Umm al-Mu'minin Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) and drink honey with her. So Umm al-Mu'minin A'ishah al-Siddiqah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and I agreed that whichever of us the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to would say to him: I detect the odor of maghafir from you; have you eaten maghafir? (This is a kind of gum whose smell was disliked.) So when the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to one of them, she said this to him, and he (peace be upon him) said: "No, rather I drank honey at Zaynab's, and I will never drink it again." Then this verse was revealed: "O Prophet (peace be upon him)! Why do you forbid what Allah the Exalted has made lawful for you... if you both repent" — meaning Umm al-Mu'minin A'ishah and Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with them) — and Allah the Exalted's saying, "And when the Prophet confided a secret to one of his wives" (al-Tahrim: 1-3) — this refers to what the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "I drank honey." Urdu Translation
ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمام المؤمنین زینب رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس ٹھہرا کرتے اور ان کے پاس شہد پیا کرتے تھے۔ پس ام المؤمنین عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے کہا کہ میں نے اور ام المؤمنین حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے ایکا کیا کہ جس کے پاس بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتشریف لائیں، وہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے عرض کرے کہ میں آپ کے پاس سے مغافیر کی بدبو پاتی ہوں، کیا آپ نے مغافیر کھایا ہے؟ (یہ ایک قسم کا گوند ہے جس کی بو ناپسندیدہ تھی)۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمجب ایک کے پاس آئے تو اس نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے یہی کہا، تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا بلکہ میں نے تو زینب کے پاس شہد پیا ہے اور اب کبھی نہ پیوں گا۔ پھر یہ آیت اتری کہ”اے نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم)! آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماس چیز کو کیوں حرام کرتے ہیں جس کو اللہ تعالیٰ نے آپ کے لئے حلال کیا ہے.... اگر وہ دونوں توبہ کریں“یعنی ام المؤمنین عائشہ اور حفصہ رضی اللہ عنہما اور اللہ تعالیٰ نے جو یہ فرمایا کہ”نبی نے ایک بات چپکے سے اپنی ایک بیوی سے کہی“(التحریم: 3-1) تو اس بات سے وہی بات مراد ہے جو نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا تھا کہ میں نے شہد پیا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 853]
