English Translation
Narrated Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) held a wedding feast (walimah) for Umm al-Mu'minin Zaynab (may Allah be pleased with her) (on the occasion of the marriage) that was better and more abundant than any he held for any other wife. Thabit al-Bunani asked: What did he (peace be upon him) serve at the feast? He said: He (peace be upon him) served meat and bread, until the people ate their fill and left, and food remained over. Urdu Translation
سیدنا انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ام المؤمنین زینب رضی اللہ عنہا سے (نکاح کے موقع پر) جیسا بہتر اور فراخی سے ولیمہ کیا، کسی اور زوجہ سے (نکاح) پر نہیں کیا۔ پس ثابت بنانی نے پوچھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے کس چیز کا ولیمہ کیا تھا؟ تو انہوں نے کہا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے گوشت روٹی کھلائی تھی، حتیٰ کہ لوگ سیر ہو کر چلے گئے اور کھانا بچ گیا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 823]
