English Translation

Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) came in the Battle of Khaybar, so we prayed the morning prayer near Khaybar in the darkness. Then he (peace be upon him) mounted, and Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) also mounted, and I was mounted behind Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) drove (his mount) into Khaybar, and my knee was touching the thigh of the Prophet (peace be upon him) (because) the garment had slipped away from the thigh of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and I was seeing the whiteness of his (peace be upon him) thigh. When he (peace be upon him) entered the settlement (Khaybar), he (peace be upon him) raised the cry "Allahu Akbar, Khaybar is destroyed," that is, Allah is the Greatest and Khaybar has been ruined. And he said, "When we descend into the courtyard (open ground) of a people (then evil is the morning of that people who have been warned of Allah's punishment)." He (peace be upon him) raised these (cries) three times. Anas said that the people (the Jews) were going out for their work. (Seeing the army and hearing the voice of the Prophet, peace be upon him,) they began to say, "By Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him) has arrived with his army." Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that we conquered Khaybar by force, and the captives were gathered together in one place. Then Dihya al-Kalbi (may Allah be pleased with him) came and said, "O Messenger of Allah! Give me some slave-girl from among the captives." He (peace be upon him) said, "Go and take any slave-girl." He chose Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) (who was among the captives) and took her away. Then a man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said, "O Prophet of Allah (peace be upon him)! You gave Dihya (may Allah be pleased with him) Safiyya bint Huyayy, who is the daughter of the chief of Banu Qurayza and Banu al-Nadir; she is fit for none but you." He (peace be upon him) said, "Call Dihya (may Allah be pleased with him) and that slave-girl." They brought Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her). When the Prophet (peace be upon him) saw Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her), he (peace be upon him) said (to Dihya, may Allah be pleased with him), "Take some other slave-girl besides Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her)." Then he (peace be upon him) freed Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) and married her. Thabit asked Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), "O Abu Hamza, how much dowry did he (peace be upon him) give her (that is, the Mother of the Believers Safiyya, may Allah be pleased with her)?" So Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "Her dowry was her own self, for he (peace be upon him) freed her and married her (this very freeing was her dowry)." He (peace be upon him) was still on the journey when Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) adorned and prepared Safiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) and brought her to the Prophet (peace be upon him). In the morning he (peace be upon him) was as a bridegroom. Then he (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever has any food, let him bring it." And he (peace be upon him) spread out a dining-cloth, so someone brought cheese, someone brought dates, and someone brought clarified butter. The noble Companions mixed all these things together and made hays (and ate it). سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمغزوہ خیبر میں آئے تو ہم نے خیبر کے پاس صبح کی نماز اندھیرے میں پڑھی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسوار ہوئے اور سیدنا ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ بھی سوار ہو گئے اور میں ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے سوار تھا۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (اپنی سواری کو) خیبر میں داخل کر دیا اور میرا گھٹنا نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران کو لگ رہا تھا (کیونکہ) نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران سے چادر ہٹ گئی تھی، اور میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران کی سفیدی دیکھ رہا تھا۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبستی (خیبر) میں داخل ہو گئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ((”اﷲاکبر خربت خیبر“)) کا نعرہ لگایا یعنی اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے اور خیبر برباد ہو گیا۔ اور فرمایا جب ہم کسی قوم کے صحن (میدان) میں اترے (تو جس قوم کو اللہ کے عذاب سے ڈرایا جا رہا ہے اس کی صبح بری ہوئی) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہ (نعرے) تین مرتبہ لگائے۔ سیدنا انس نے کہا کہ قوم (یہود) اپنے کام کاج کے لئے جا رہی تھی۔ (وہ لشکر کو دیکھ کر اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آواز سن کر) کہنے لگے کہ اللہ کی قسم محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنے لشکر کے ساتھ پہنچ گئے ہیں۔ سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نے خیبر کو طاقت کے ساتھ فتح کیا اور قیدی ایک جگہ اکٹھے کئے گئے۔ پھر سیدنا دحیہ کلبی رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ! قیدیوں میں سے مجھے کوئی لونڈی دے دیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جاؤ اور کوئی سی بھی لونڈی لے لو۔ انہوں نے صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا (جو کہ قیدیوں میں تھیں) کو پسند کیا اور لے گئے، تو ایک آدمی نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور عرض کیا کہ اے اللہ کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمآپ نے دحیہ رضی اللہ عنہ کو صفیہ بنت حیی دیدی جو کہ بنو قریظہ اور بنو نظیر کے سردار کی بیٹی ہے، وہ صرف آپ کو ہی لائق ہے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ دحیہ رضی اللہ عنہ اور اس باندی کو بلاؤ۔ وہ صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو لائے۔ جب نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو دیکھا تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (دحیہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے) فرمایا کہ صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے علاوہ کوئی اور لونڈی لے لو۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو آزاد کر کے ان سے شادی کر لی۔ ثابت نے سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا کہ اے ابوحمزہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس کو (یعنی ام المؤمنین صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو) حق مہر کتنا دیا تھا؟ تو انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے جواب دیا کہ ان کا مہر ان کی اپنی ذات تھی کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اس کو آزاد کیا اور نکاح کر لیا (یہی آزادی ان کا حق مہر تھا)۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمابھی سفر میں ہی تھے کہ ام سلیم رضی اللہ عنہا نے صفیہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو بنایا سنوارا اور تیار کر کے نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس پہنچا دیا۔ صبح آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے عروس کی حالت میں کی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ جس کے پاس کھانے کی کوئی چیز ہو تو وہ لے آئے۔ اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے دسترخوان بچھا دیا تو کوئی شخص پنیر لایا تو کوئی کھجور لایا اور کوئی گھی لے آیا۔ صحابہ کرام نے ان تمام چیزوں کو ملا کر حسیس بنائی (اور کھائی) یہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکا ولیمہ تھا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 806]سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہنبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمغزوہ خیبر میں آئے تو ہم نے خیبر کے پاس صبح کی نماز اندھیرے میں پڑھی۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسوار ہوئے اور سیدنا ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ بھی سوار ہو گئے اور میں ابوطلحہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے پیچھے سوار تھا۔ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے (اپنی سواری کو) خیبر میں داخل کر دیا اور میرا گھٹنا نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران کو لگ رہا تھا (کیونکہ) نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران سے چادر ہٹ گئی تھی، اور میں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی ران کی سفیدی دیکھ رہا تھا۔ جب آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبستی (خیبر) میں داخل ہو گئے تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے ((”اﷲاکبر خربت خیبر“)) کا نعرہ لگایا یعنی اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے اور خیبر برباد ہو گیا۔ اور فرمایا جب ہم کسی قوم کے صحن (میدان) میں اترے (تو جس قوم کو اللہ کے عذاب سے ڈرایا جا رہا ہے اس کی صبح بری ہوئی) آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے یہ (نعرے) تین مرتبہ لگائے۔ سیدنا انس نے کہا کہ قوم (یہود) اپنے کام کاج کے لئے جا رہی تھی۔ (وہ لشکر کو دیکھ کر اور نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی آواز سن کر) کہنے لگے کہ اللہ کی قسم محمدصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنے لشکر کے ساتھ پہنچ گئے ہیں۔ سیدنا انس رضی اللہ عنہ فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نے خیبر کو طاقت کے ساتھ فتح کیا اور قیدی ایک جگہ اکٹھے کئے گئے۔ پھر سیدنا دحیہ کلبی رضی اللہ عنہ آئے اور عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ!
