English Translation
It is narrated from Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was passing through a garden of Banu Najjar on a mule of his, and we were with him. Suddenly the mule shied and was about to throw him off. There were six, or five, or four graves there. He asked: Does anyone know whose graves these are? A man said: I know. He said: When did these people die? The man said: In the time of polytheism. He said: This ummah is tried in the graves. So, were it not that you would cease to bury (your dead), I would supplicate to Allah to make you hear the punishment of the grave which I am hearing. After this he turned towards us and said: Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hell. The people said: We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of Hell. Then he said: Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave. The people said: We seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave. He said: Seek refuge in Allah from the trials, hidden and open. The people said: We seek refuge in Allah from the trials, hidden and open. He said: Seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the Dajjal. The people said: We seek refuge in Allah from the trial of the Dajjal. [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim/Hadith: 493]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا براء بن عازب رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمبنی نجار کے باغ میں اپنے ایک خچر پر جا رہے تھے اور ہم آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ تھے۔ اتنے میں وہ خچر بدکا اور قریب تھا کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکو گرا دے وہاں پر چھ یا پانچ یا چار قبریں تھیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے پوچھا کہ کوئی جانتا ہے کہ یہ قبریں کن کی ہیں؟ ایک شخص بولا کہ میں جانتا ہوں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ یہ لوگ کب مرے؟ وہ شخص بولا کہ شرک کے زمانہ میں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ اس امت کا امتحان قبروں میں ہوتا ہے۔ پھر اگر تم (اپنے مردوں کو) دفن کرنا نہ چھوڑ دو تو میں اللہ تعالیٰ سے دعا کرتا کہ تم کو قبر کا عذاب سنا دیتا، جو میں سن رہا ہوں۔ اس کے بعد آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمہماری طرف متوجہ ہوئے اور فرمایا کہ جہنم کے عذاب سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی پناہ مانگو۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ ہم جہنم کے عذاب سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ قبر کے عذاب سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگو۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ ہم قبر کے عذاب سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ چھپے اور کھلے فتنوں سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگو۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ ہم چھپے اور کھلے فتنوں سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ دجال کے فتنہ سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگو۔ لوگوں نے کہا کہ ہم دجال کے فتنہ سے اللہ کی پناہ مانگتے ہیں۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 493]
