English Translation
Narrated Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), reporting from the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a marfu' report: "When one of you sleeps, the devil ties three knots at the back of his neck. On each knot he blows, 'The night is still long.' Then when one wakes and remembers Allah, one knot is undone; and when he performs ablution, two knots are undone; and when he prays, all the knots are undone. Then he rises in the morning cheerful and good-natured; otherwise he rises ill-tempered and lazy." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 387]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے مرفوعاً بیان کرتے ہیں کہتم میں سے (جب کوئی سو جاتا ہے) تو شیطان ہر ایک کی گردن پر تین گرہیں لگاتا ہے۔ ہر گرہ پر پھونک دیتا ہے کہ ابھی رات بہت ہے۔ پھر جب کوئی جاگا اور اس نے اللہ کو یاد کیا تو ایک گرہ کھل گئی۔ اور جب وضو کیا تو دو گرہیں کھل گئیں۔ اور جب نماز پڑھی تو سب گرہیں کھل گئیں۔ پھر وہ صبح کو ہشاش بشاش خوش مزاج اٹھتا ہے اور نہیں تو گندہ دل سست ہو کر اٹھتا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 387]
