English Translation
Sayyiduna Abu Burda narrates from his father (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: We prayed the Maghrib prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), then we said: If we remain sitting until we pray the Isha with him (peace be upon him), it would be good. So we remained sitting, and he (peace be upon him) came out. He (peace be upon him) said: You have remained sitting here? We said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah! We prayed the Maghrib prayer with you (peace be upon him), then we said: If we remain sitting until we pray the Isha prayer too with you (peace be upon him), it would be good. He (peace be upon him) said: You did well, or you did right. Then he (peace be upon him) raised his head toward the sky — and he (peace be upon him) often raised his head toward the sky — then said: The stars are the security of the sky; when the stars are effaced, then that which is promised will come upon the sky too (that is, the Resurrection will come, and the sky too will split apart and be ruined). And I am the security of my companions; when I depart, then that which is promised will come upon my companions too (that is, tribulation, corruption, and battles). And my companions are the security of my community; when the companions depart, then that which is promised will come upon my community (that is, discord and dissension, and so on).
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوبردہ اپنے والد رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں،انہوں نے کہا ہم نے مغرب کی نماز رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ پڑھی، پھر ہم نے کہا کہ اگر ہم بیٹھے رہیں یہاں تک کہ عشاء آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ پڑھیں تو بہتر ہو گا۔ پھر ہم بیٹھے رہے اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمباہر تشریف لائے۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم یہیں بیٹھے رہے ہو؟ ہم نے عرض کیا کہ جی ہاں یا رسول اللہ! ہم نے آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ نماز مغرب پڑھی، پھر ہم نے کہا کہ اگر ہم بیٹھے رہیں یہاں تک کہ عشاء کی نماز بھی آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے ساتھ پڑھیں تو بہتر ہو گا۔ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ تم نے اچھا کیا یا ٹھیک کیا۔ پھر آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا اور آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماکثر اپنا سر آسمان کی طرف اٹھایا کرتے تھے، پھر فرمایا کہ ستارے آسمان کے بچاؤ ہیں، جب ستارے مٹ جائیں گے تو آسمان پر بھی جس بات کا وعدہ ہے وہ آ جائے گی (یعنی قیامت آ جائے گی اور آسمان بھی پھٹ کر خراب ہو جائے گا)۔ اور میں اپنے اصحاب کا بچاؤ ہوں۔ جب میں چلا جاؤں گا تو میرے اصحاب پر بھی وہ وقت آ جائے گا جس کا وعدہ ہے (یعنی فتنہ اور فساد اور لڑائیاں)۔ اور میرے اصحاب میری امت کے بچاؤ ہیں۔ جب اصحاب چلے جائیں گے تو میری امت پر وہ وقت آ جائے گا جس کا وعدہ ہے (یعنی اختلاف و انتشار وغیرہ)۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1741]
