English Translation
Sayyiduna Jubayr bin Mut'im (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: There is no alliance in Islam (that is, such an alliance in which there is sharing even in inheritance and the like); and whatever pact was made in the days of ignorance (for a good cause) has been made even stronger by Islam.
Urdu Translation
سیدنا جبیر بن مطعم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: اسلام میں حلف نہیں ہے (یعنی ایسا حلف جس میں وراثت وغیرہ تک میں شرکت ہو) اور جو قسم جاہلیت کے زمانے میں (نیک بات کے لئے) کی ہو، وہ اسلام سے اور مضبوط ہو گئی۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1740]
