English Translation
Narrated Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) sat on his pulpit and said, "There is a servant of Allah whom Allah has given the choice: he may take the wealth of this world if he wishes, or he may choose to be with Allah; and he chose to be with Allah." Hearing this, Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) wept (understanding that the time of the Messenger's, peace be upon him, passing was near) and wept much. Then he said, "May our fathers and mothers be sacrificed for you." (Then it became known) that by this servant was meant the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) himself, and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) had more knowledge than all of us. And the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "The one whose favor upon me is greatest of all people, in both wealth and companionship, is Abu Bakr, and if I were to take anyone (besides Allah) as an intimate friend, I would take Abu Bakr as an intimate friend. (Now there is no such intimacy) but there is the brotherhood of Islam. Let no one's window remain open in the mosque (let them all be closed), but keep the window of Abu Bakr's house." [Mukhtasar Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1622]
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلماپنے منبر پر بیٹھے اور فرمایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کا ایک بندہ ہے جس کو اللہ نے اختیار دیا ہے کہ چاہے دنیا کی دولت لے اور چاہے اللہ تعالیٰ کے پاس رہنا اختیار کرے، پھر اس نے اللہ کے پاس رہنا اختیار کیا۔ یہ سن کر سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ روئے (سمجھ گئے کہ آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکی وفات کا وقت قریب ہے) اور بہت روئے۔ پھر کہا کہ ہمارے باپ دادا ہماری مائیں آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمپر قربان ہوں (پھر معلوم ہوا) کہ اس بندے سے مراد خود رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمتھے اور سیدنا ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ ہم سب سے زیادہ علم رکھتے تھے۔ اور رسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا کہ سب لوگوں سے زیادہ مجھ پر ابوبکر کا احسان ہے مال کا بھی اور صحبت کا بھی اور اگر میں کسی کو (اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا) دوست بناتا تو ابوبکر کو دوست بناتا۔ (اب خلّت تو نہیں ہے) لیکن اسلام کی اخوت (برادری) ہے۔ مسجد میں کسی کی کھڑکی نہ رہے (سب بند کر دی جائیں) لیکن ابوبکر کے گھر کی کھڑکی قائم رکھو۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1622]
