English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The leader is a shield behind whom the Muslims fight and through whom they are protected. If he commands the fear of Allah and acts justly, he will be rewarded. But if he commands otherwise, it will be a burden upon him."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا: امام سپر (ڈھال) ہے کہ اس کے پیچھے مسلمان (کافروں سے) لڑتے ہیں اور اس کی وجہ سے لوگ تکلیف (ظالموں اور لٹیروں) سے بچتے ہیں۔ پھر اگر وہ اللہ سے ڈرنے کا حکم کرے اور انصاف کرے، تو اس کو ثواب ہو گا اور اگر اس کے خلاف حکم دے، تو اس پر وبال ہو گا۔[مختصر صحيح مسلم/حدیث: 1206]
