Arabic (Original)
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ، قَالَتْ :" أَمَرَنَا بِأَبِي هُوَ أَنْ نُخْرِجَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ، وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ الْعَوَاتِقَ وَذَوَاتِ الْخُدُورِ، فَأَمَّا الْحُيَّضُ، فَإِنَّهُنَّ يَعْتَزِلْنَ الصَّفَّ، وَيَشْهَدْنَ الْخَيْرَ وَدَعْوَةَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لِإِحْدَاهُنَّ الْجِلْبَابُ؟ قَالَ : " تُلْبِسُهَا أُخْتُهَا مِنْ جِلْبَابِهَا "
English Translation
Hadrat Umm Atiyyah (may Allah be well pleased with her) narrated: He — by my father (i.e. the Beloved Messenger of Allah, blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) — commanded us to bring out the young women, the secluded ones, and the virgins on Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. As for the menstruating women, they should keep away from the prayer rows but attend the good (gathering) and the supplication of the Muslims. I submitted: O Messenger of Allah, what if one of them does not have a jilbab (outer garment)? He stated: 'Let her sister lend her one of her own garments.'
Urdu Translation
حضرت اُمّ عطیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے بیان کیا: آپ نے — میرے والد کی قسم (یعنی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) — ہمیں حکم دیا کہ عیدالفطر اور عیدالاضحی کے دن نوجوان عورتوں، پردہ نشینوں اور کنواریوں کو باہر لے کر آئیں۔ جہاں تک حیض والی عورتوں کا تعلق ہے تو وہ نماز کی صف سے الگ رہیں لیکن خیر (اجتماع) اور مسلمانوں کی دعا میں شامل ہوں۔ میں نے عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! اگر ان میں سے کسی کے پاس جلباب (چادر) نہ ہو تو؟ آپ نے ارشاد فرمایا: 'اس کی بہن اپنی چادروں میں سے ایک اسے پہنا دے۔'
