Hadrat Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him) narrated: 'The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) went out against the polytheists to fight them. My father Abdullah said: O Jabir, it would be better for you to stay among the onlookers of the people of Madinah until you see what happens to our affair. By Allah, were it not that I leave daughters after me, I would have loved for you to be killed before my eyes.' He said: 'While I was among the onlookers, my aunt came carrying my father and my uncle to bury them in our cemetery. A man came calling out that the Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) commands you to return the slain and bury them where they fell. So we returned them and buried them where they fell. During the caliphate of Mu'awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), a man came and said: O Jabir ibn Abdullah, the workers of Mu'awiyah have unearthed your father. He was partly exposed. I went to him and found him in the same state I had buried him; he had not changed except for what inevitably happens to the slain. I reburied him. My father had left a debt in dates, and some of his creditors pressed me hard for repayment. I came to the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and submitted the matter. The Noble Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) stated: "Yes, I will come to you around midday, Allah willing." He came with his close companions, and they sat in the shade. The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) greeted and sought permission and entered. I told my wife that the Messenger of Allah was coming and she should not be seen or disturb him. She spread a mattress and a pillow. He lay down and slept. I told my servant to slaughter the plump young goat quickly before he awakens. We prepared it while he slept. When he awoke, he stated: "O Jabir, bring me water for ablution." Before he finished his ablution, the goat was placed before him. He stated: "It seems you knew of our love for meat. Call Abu Bakr." Then he invited his companions. He placed his blessed hand on the food and said: "In the name of Allah, eat." They ate until full, and much meat remained. He then stated: "Measure out for your creditor, for Allah the Exalted will fulfill it." Allah fulfilled the debt with dates to spare. Later the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) told Umar to ask Jabir about his creditor, but Umar kept saying he already knew Allah would fulfill it. After three times, Umar asked and Jabir confirmed. When Jabir returned, his wife said: Do you think Allah would bring His Prophet into our house and he would leave without my asking for his blessings upon me and my husband?'
Urdu Translation
حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مشرکین سے جنگ کے لیے نکلے۔ میرے والد عبداللہ نے کہا: اے جابر! بہتر ہے کہ تم مدینے کے تماشائیوں میں رہو یہاں تک کہ ہمارا معاملہ دیکھ لو۔ اللہ کی قسم اگر میں اپنے بعد بیٹیاں نہ چھوڑتا تو مجھے خوشی ہوتی کہ تم میری آنکھوں کے سامنے شہید ہو۔ جب میں تماشائیوں میں تھا تو میری پھوپھی میرے والد اور ماموں کو لے کر ہمارے قبرستان میں دفن کرنے آئیں۔ ایک شخص آیا جو پکار رہا تھا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حکم دیتے ہیں کہ شہیدوں کو واپس لاؤ اور جہاں شہید ہوئے وہیں دفن کرو۔ ہم نے واپس لے جا کر وہیں دفن کیا۔ معاویہ بن ابی سفیان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے دور خلافت میں ایک شخص آیا اور کہا: اے جابر! معاویہ کے عاملوں نے تمہارے والد کو نکالا، وہ ظاہر ہو گئے۔ میں ان کے پاس گیا تو انہیں ویسے ہی پایا جیسے دفن کیا تھا، کوئی تبدیلی نہیں آئی سوائے اس کے جو شہید پر آتی ہے۔ میں نے انہیں دوبارہ دفنایا۔ میرے والد نے کھجوروں کا قرض چھوڑا تھا۔ قرض خواہوں نے سختی شروع کی۔ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور حال بیان کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں، ان شاء اللہ دوپہر کے قریب آؤں گا۔ آپ اپنے خاص ساتھیوں کے ساتھ تشریف لائے، سایے میں بیٹھے، سلام کیا، اجازت لی اور داخل ہوئے۔ میں نے بیوی سے کہا تھا کہ رسول اللہ آج آ رہے ہیں، نظر نہ آنا اور کوئی تکلیف نہ دینا۔ اس نے بستر اور تکیہ بچھایا، آپ نے سر رکھا اور سو گئے۔ میں نے غلام سے کہا: یہ موٹی بکری ذبح کرو، جلدی کرو اور فارغ ہو جاؤ آپ کے جاگنے سے پہلے۔ ہم تیاری میں لگے رہے جب تک آپ سوئے رہے۔ جب بیدار ہوئے تو فرمایا: اے جابر! وضو کا پانی لاؤ۔ وضو سے فارغ نہیں ہوئے تھے کہ بکری آپ کے سامنے رکھ دی گئی۔ آپ نے دیکھا اور فرمایا: لگتا ہے تمہیں گوشت سے ہماری محبت کا علم ہے۔ ابو بکر کو بلاؤ۔ پھر اپنے ساتھیوں کو بلایا۔ کھانا لایا گیا، آپ نے ہاتھ رکھا اور فرمایا: بسم اللہ کھاؤ۔ سب نے سیر ہو کر کھایا اور بہت گوشت بچ رہا۔ پھر آپ نے قرض خواہ کو بلایا اور فرمایا: جابر کو مہلت دو۔ اس نے انکار کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ناپ کر دے دو، اللہ تعالیٰ پورا کر دے گا۔ اللہ نے پورا بھی کیا اور کھجوریں بچ بھی رہیں۔ پھر آپ نے حضرت عمر سے جابر سے پوچھنے کو کہا، عمر کہتے رہے: مجھے معلوم ہے اللہ پورا کرے گا۔ تین بار کے بعد پوچھا تو جابر نے تصدیق کی۔ جب واپس گئے تو بیوی نے کہا: تم سمجھتے ہو اللہ اپنے نبی کو میرے گھر لائے اور وہ نکل جائیں اور میں ان سے اپنے اور اپنے شوہر کے لیے دعا نہ مانگوں؟

حضرت جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے بیان کیا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم مشرکین سے جنگ کے لیے نکلے۔ میرے والد عبداللہ نے کہا: اے جابر! بہتر ہے کہ تم مدینے کے تماشائیوں میں رہو یہاں تک کہ ہمارا معاملہ دیکھ لو۔ اللہ کی قسم اگر میں اپنے بعد بیٹیاں نہ چھوڑتا تو مجھے خوشی ہوتی کہ تم میری آنکھوں کے سامنے شہید ہو۔ جب میں تماشائیوں میں تھا تو میری پھوپھی میرے والد اور ماموں کو لے کر ہمارے قبرستان میں دفن کرنے آئیں۔ ایک شخص آیا جو پکار رہا تھا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم حکم دیتے ہیں کہ شہیدوں کو واپس لاؤ اور جہاں شہید ہوئے وہیں دفن کرو۔ ہم نے واپس لے جا کر وہیں دفن کیا۔ معاویہ بن ابی سفیان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کے دور خلافت میں ایک شخص آیا اور کہا: اے جابر! معاویہ کے عاملوں نے تمہارے والد کو نکالا، وہ ظاہر ہو گئے۔ میں ان کے پاس گیا تو انہیں ویسے ہی پایا جیسے دفن کیا تھا، کوئی تبدیلی نہیں آئی سوائے اس کے جو شہید پر آتی ہے۔ میں نے انہیں دوبارہ دفنایا۔ میرے والد نے کھجوروں کا قرض چھوڑا تھا۔ قرض خواہوں نے سختی شروع کی۔ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ تعالیٰ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور حال بیان کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ہاں، ان شاء اللہ دوپہر کے قریب آؤں گا۔ آپ اپنے خاص ساتھیوں کے ساتھ تشریف لائے، سایے میں بیٹھے، سلام کیا، اجازت لی اور داخل ہوئے۔ میں نے بیوی سے کہا تھا کہ رسول اللہ آج آ رہے ہیں، نظر نہ آنا اور کوئی تکلیف نہ دینا۔ اس نے بستر اور تکیہ بچھایا، آپ نے سر رکھا اور سو گئے۔ میں نے غلام سے کہا: یہ موٹی بکری ذبح کرو، جلدی کرو اور فارغ ہو جاؤ آپ کے جاگنے سے پہلے۔ ہم تیاری میں لگے رہے جب تک آپ سوئے رہے۔ جب بیدار ہوئے تو فرمایا: اے جابر! وضو کا پانی لاؤ۔ وضو سے فارغ نہیں ہوئے تھے کہ بکری آپ کے سامنے رکھ دی گئی۔ آپ نے دیکھا اور فرمایا: لگتا ہے تمہیں گوشت سے ہماری محبت کا علم ہے۔ ابو بکر کو بلاؤ۔ پھر اپنے ساتھیوں کو بلایا۔ کھانا لایا گیا، آپ نے ہاتھ رکھا اور فرمایا: بسم اللہ کھاؤ۔ سب نے سیر ہو کر کھایا اور بہت گوشت بچ رہا۔ پھر آپ نے قرض خواہ کو بلایا اور فرمایا: جابر کو مہلت دو۔ اس نے انکار کیا۔ آپ نے فرمایا: ناپ کر دے دو، اللہ تعالیٰ پورا کر دے گا۔ اللہ نے پورا بھی کیا اور کھجوریں بچ بھی رہیں۔ پھر آپ نے حضرت عمر سے جابر سے پوچھنے کو کہا، عمر کہتے رہے: مجھے معلوم ہے اللہ پورا کرے گا۔ تین بار کے بعد پوچھا تو جابر نے تصدیق کی۔ جب واپس گئے تو بیوی نے کہا: تم سمجھتے ہو اللہ اپنے نبی کو میرے گھر لائے اور وہ نکل جائیں اور میں ان سے اپنے اور اپنے شوہر کے لیے دعا نہ مانگوں؟
