أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ :" الْخَالَةُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْأُمِّ، وَالْعَمَّةُ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْأَبِ، وَبِنْتُ الْأَخِ بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْأَخِ، وَكُلُّ ذِي رَحِمٍ بِمَنْزِلَةِ رَحِمِهِ الَّتِي يُدْلِي بِهَا إِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ وَارِثٌ ذُو قَرَابَةٍ "
English Translation
Hadrat Abdullah (may Allah be well pleased with him) stated: "The maternal aunt is in the position of the mother, the paternal aunt is in the position of the father, the niece is in the position of the brother, and every relative is in the position of the kinship through which they are connected — when there is no prescribed heir."
Urdu Translation
حضرت عبداللہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے فرمایا: "خالہ ماں کے درجے میں ہے، پھوپھی باپ کے درجے میں ہے، بھتیجی بھائی کے درجے میں ہے، اور ہر صاحبِ رحم اس رشتے کے درجے میں ہے جس کے ذریعے وہ جڑا ہے — جب کوئی مقرر وارث نہ ہو۔"
