English Translation
Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: "A man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my mother passed away and she owed a month of fasting. Shall I fast on her behalf?' The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Yes. The debt owed to Allah is most deserving of being fulfilled.'"
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہایک شخص نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمکے پاس آیا اور اس نے عرض کی کہ یا رسول اللہ! میری والدہ فوت ہو گئی ہے اور ان پر ایک مہینے کے روزے باقی ہیں، کیا میں ان کی طرف سے (ان کے) قضاء (روزے) رکھ لوں؟ تو آپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”ہاں، اللہ کا قرض ادا کر دینا سب سے زیادہ استحقاق رکھتا ہے۔“[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 950]
