English Translation
Abdullah ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) enjoined the Sadaqat al-Fitr (Zakah of Eid al-Fitr): one Sa' of dates or one Sa' of barley, upon every Muslim—free or slave, male or female, young or old. And he ordered that it be given before the people go out for the Eid prayer.

سیدنا عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہرسول اللہصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے صدقہ فطر کے لیے کھجوروں کا یا”جو“کا ایک صاع مسلمانوں میں سے ہر غلام اور آزاد اور مرد اور عورت اور بچے اور بڑے سب پر فرض فرمایا اور لوگوں کو نماز (عید) کے لیے نکلنے سے پہلے اسے ادا کر دینے کا حکم دیا ہے۔[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 766]
