English Translation

Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that in the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) we did not have a napkin (to clean our hands after eating). Our palms, forearms, and feet were all we had (we would rub them off on these and pray, without performing ablution).
