English Translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Allah created Adam, making him sixty cubits tall. Then He said: 'Go and greet that group of angels and listen to how they greet you, for that will be your greeting and the greeting of your descendants.' Adam said: 'Al-Salamu Alaykum.' They replied: 'Al-Salamu Alayka wa Rahmatullah.' So they added 'wa Rahmatullah.' Everyone who enters Paradise will be in the form of Adam, and mankind has continued to diminish in stature since then."
Urdu Translation
سیدنا ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی کریمصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمسے روایت کرتے ہیں کہآپصلی اللہ علیہ وسلمنے فرمایا:”اللہ تعالیٰ نے آدم علیہ السلام کو ساٹھ ہاتھ لمبا بنایا پھر فرمایا کہ:”جا! ان فرشتوں کے گروہ کو سلام کر، پھر سن کہ وہ تجھے کیا جواب دیتے ہیں، وہی تیرا اور تیری اولاد کا سلام ہو گا۔“آدم علیہ السلام نے کہا:”السلام علیکم“تو انھوں نے جواب دیا”السلام علیک ورحمتہ اللہ“۔”ورحمتہ اللہ“کا لفظ انھوں نے بڑھایا۔ پس وہ سب لوگ جو قیامت کے دن جنت میں داخل ہوں گے وہ سب آدم علیہ السلام کی صورت (حسن اور قامت) پر ہوں گے (آدم کے بعد) پھر اب تک قد چھوٹے ہوتے رہے[مختصر صحيح بخاري/حدیث: 1399]
